About us
As the saying goes "You just never know what is around the corner and where life will take you".
I grew up on the North West of Tasmania and in my late teens moved to Hobart and started my first business, to later do as most of younger and curious 20 somethings did back then, I moved to the mainland. 35 years later, with the love and support of my children and their families, I moved back to Tasmania just as Covid was ending and the world was getting back to some form of normality and now I could work from home in my career at the time.
Fast forward 5 years and it was time for me to semi retire with a little persuasion from work circumstances and my wonderful partner. So I was faced with finding something to do which I could enjoy and make an income. Not at any stage did I see it going to where I am now. I have always been a bit of a creative person and one who looks outside of the box.
I chose to go back to my early years and venture into utilising the wasted skins from animals that were killed for either their meat, or because they were in too large a number in certain areas of the state and were being left to rot or buried in pits. Hence why I tan my own hides and now produce lovely bags and rugs.
It has been an interesting first year and I have learnt so much about the industry and how it operates. I make every item from scratch, I cut out the patterns by hand and finish each piece by hand before assembly them all hand stitching each piece to create a beautiful end product for you to enjoy.
Now it is time for me to share these items with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them for you.
Yes, I have taken all the photos myself that I am using on my website and they are all of beautiful places which my partner and I go to when he says let's go for a drive and we just may need to put the swag in and usually we don't come home for a couple of days.
